In a Fog

In a Fog

I look around and see

No one and nothing around me.

I don’t recall how I got here

But with no world I have no fear.

Nothing beyond and nothing before

Not a little less or a little more

Just enough, this space that I fill

Myself, my mind with all that’s tranquil

I don’t care for distance or for meaning

No time changing, no sun gleaming

And the road feels cold under my feet

I hold myself, I’m all I need.

I’ve let go of what exists

And I’ve given up all that persists.

I feel a blanket cover my eyes

And wipe away the tears that dried.

I look around and see

No one and nothing around me

Just peace and serenity.
